London Heathrow Airport

You can travel to Heathrow by rail, tube, or use the wide network of coach services and local buses.

Getting to Heathrow by Underground

Heathrow has two stations on London Underground's Piccadilly Line, one station for Terminals 1, 2 & 3 and one for Terminal 4.

Average journey time to central London is approximately 50 to 60 minutes. Tubes run every five minutes at peak times and every nine minutes at off-peak times and weekends.

Getting to Heathrow by Taxi

London black cabs are licensed by the Metropolitan Police to operate in the Metropolitan Police District, covering most of London. Black cabs are strictly regulated to ensure that high standards are maintained. At Heathrow a computer system controls the flow of black cabs to the terminal forecourts to ensure the supply of cabs meets the customer demands.

Approximate cost from Heathrow to Central London is £40.00-£45.00, with an average journey time of one hour.

Getting to Heathrow by Bus or Coach

Frequent bus and coach services connect Heathrow with more than 500 local and national destinations across the UK. Most coach services operate from the central bus station, which can be reached by the subways linking Terminals 1, 2 and 3. The central bus station is well signed posted from all terminals and is located next to the London Underground station for Terminals 1, 2 and 3.

Please note that parking is not available at the central bus station. To drop off or pick up a passenger from the bus station please use short stay Car Park 2, located next to Terminal 2.

London Gatwick Airport

Gatwick is the busiest single runway airport in the world, the second busiest airport in the UK and the sixth busiest international airport in the world.

Gatwick has superb public transport links. There are more than 900 rail services a day to and from the airport and more than 400 express coach services serve the airport daily.

Getting to Gatwick by Train

Gatwick railway station at South Terminal has more than 900 services daily to and from all parts of the UK.

The rail station is directly linked to Gatwick's South Terminal and just a few minutes away from North Terminal via a transit train link. Rail information and ticket desks are in the arrivals areas of both North Terminal and South Terminal.

Getting to Gatwick by Bus or Coach

There are more than 400 express coach services a day from the coach stations at North and South Terminals. Gatwick's coach station is at the ground floor of South Terminal and principle services also call at North Terminal. There are coach information and ticket desks in the arrivals areas of both terminals.

Speedlink coach services operate from dedicated bases at the South and North Terminals. All other coach services stop at London Gatwick's coach station on the ground floor of South Terminal. Principal services also call at North Terminal. Other passengers arriving at the South Terminal should take the transit train to the North Terminal if necessary.

Getting to Gatwick by Taxi

Chauffeur driven car hire services are provided by the airports' official concessionaire, Checker Cars.

There is a quoted fare system and taxis can be pre-booked with fares paid in advance by cash or credit card, or at the end of the journey. Checker Cars has a booking office in the North Terminal arrivals area and a booking office in the northern entrance building leading to the South Terminal.

London Stansted Airport

London Stansted Airport offers easy onward travel facilities to both the North and South either by road, train, bus or coach.

Getting to Stansted by Train

The airport railway station is situated below the terminal building. Train tickets can be purchased at the railway station.

All trains have facilities for special needs passengers. Bicycles are not permitted on the Stansted Express at anytime, however, they can be taken on the local train service into London.


Getting to Stansted by

The coach station is located in front of the terminal forecourt.

Tickets can be purchased from the coach ticket desk in the arrivals area in the terminal or in the coach station (08:00 - 20:00). Tickets may also be purchased on the coach.

Should you wish to book a taxi in advance please telephone +44 (0)1279 662444 or alternatively courtesy phones are situated in the International and United Kingdom baggage reclaim halls. Wheelchair accessible cars are available on request.

All the major car rental firms in London have a presence at the airport too, so finding a hire car won't be a problem.
